How did you open Infopass on aug 5th, because once SR is created they say wait for 45 days before opening infopass, as in the page where we open infopass it asks for SR#?
Can you please share what option you selected in the web page when you tried to open a Infopass appointment.

On the positive side, I strongly believe that the economy will come back on track. Who knows 5-10 years from now your decision may look good. As others advised you should also consider renting out your place... With the population ever increasing, and the land being constant, I always think investment in land will always be a good investment on the long run. I'm not getting this. If DOS/USCIS wants to retrogress the current dates then why they will wait for july2nd or 3rd. As they know people will file their applications by 29th june or they will try to deliver their applications by 2nd of july. So,if this rumour is really true then they would have posted revised bulletin in this week only , latest by today only, so that people will stop filling applications. So guys relax and keep doing whatever you were doing and file your applications by 2nd july.

I didn't get an email but got an sms from USCIS about the case status change to Decision. Here's the update :)
On October 13, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
Does that mean an 'Approval'. Between we moved to AZ from FL this week and I'm sending my AR-11 and changed the address over the phone. Is there anything else I need to do ?

I am surprised by the disqualification since the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had issued the EAD. DHS has set clear guidelines not to discriminate based on any of the authorized work documents issued by them, EAD being one of them. The I-9 form required to be filled in by every employee (citizen or otherwise) clearly mentions this.
Are you sure CapitalOne does not allow candidates who are on EAD specially when it does not require sponsorship from the employer ?

Thanks for your message. The information regarding Capital One's policy on pursuing EAD card holders is correct. We are only able to pursue US Citizens or Green Card holders for these roles. I'm sorry, but we won't be able to consider your candidacy at this time.
Wow !! They probably did their homework and are prepared to hide behind some loophole in the law to clear themselves of discrimination.
After reading the other thread link that BharatPremi had posted earlier, it seems there is a possibility that they could claim that they don't want to do sponsorship (which is legal to say so), and hiring an EAD candidate means they may have to do some amount of sponsorship, however small it might be (like providing the correct form of employment letter etc).
javadeveloper - it is your company's responsibility (more likely their immigration attorney)to keep you informed of YOUR status, but it is YOUR responsibility for your dependants. Sure, the smart attorney is going to want to take care of all of the paperwork at once when filling for extensions etc as it's less hassle for them - but that doesn't absolve you from that responsibility.
Had it happen to a friend - his wife and kids had to leave the country, get new visas and H4's and were away for 7 months. Missed nearly a year of school simply because his new company weren't informed of tehm when he swicthed jobs
